Overview

The management of TIA continues to advance with many new therapies available. Rapid assesssment of TIA patients has been shown to decrease the subsequent risk of stroke by some 80%. This workshop will explore the latest recommendation from the The Canadian Stroke Best practice recommendations that were just published in 2021 on the management of TIA as well as an update on secondary prevention strategies.

Objectives

As a result of attending this session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the importance and benefit of rapid TIA assessments
  • Comprehend the role of dual antiplatelet therapy
  • Be aware of new lipid lowering guidelines and strategies
  • Be up to date of all new recommendations in the new Stroke Best Practice Recommendations
