Overview
Medico-legal considerations when providing virtual care will be discussed. This includes how the standard of care might be determined, consent discussions, privacy issues, and licensing and liability protection unique to telemedicine. Pearls for documentaion and webside manner considerations for a virtual encounter will be outlined.
Objectives
As a result of attending this session, participants will be able to:
- Outline the standard of care, consent, privacy, liability and licensing considerations when providing virtual care
- Describe 4 documentation and communication pearls for virtual encounters
- Develop 2 strategies to improve their practice
