Overview

We will review commonly held beliefs about concussions with may not be true. By doing this, we will learn helpful hints that may aid in the diagnosis, management and treatment of concussions.

Objectives

As a result of attending this session, participants will be able to:

  • Know the most sensitive physical examination findings to help solidify the diagnosis of a concussion
  • Understand that each concussion and individual is unique and what causes a concussion in one athlete may not cause a concussion in another athlete
  • Understand the limitations of advanced imaging in concussions
  • Understand the type of exercise that may help in recovery from a concussion and when to use this
